Saturday September 01 2012

This program runs from
September 1st - October 31st.

The effects Maine’s cold winters have on our poor are profound. It is common for Maine families to heat and cook primarily with wood.

Because of the high demand for this program, DancingTrees relies on referrals from teachers, case managers, churches, town governments, and state & federal agencies.

Volunteers gather, cut and split donated wood. If donated wood from “blow downs” is not enough to fill requests, firewood is purchased from area loggers and mixed with the donated wood. Once the firewood is divided into piles on “the yard”, it is ready families to pick-up.

• The quantity of firewood available to each household is dependent upon the
amount of money and firewood donated to this program.

• To donate firewood or money to this program, please contact us.
